Although all of our polices and procedures are available for schools to view and download on the SLG, we have created a series of documents designed to support the administration of the day-to-day HR processes undertaken at school level.
If you have any queries or questions about these documents, please contact your HR Advisor.
For your ease of access, they are available to view and download, as below. We will add to these throughout the academic year.
Single Central Record (SCR) (KCSiE 2024) | DfE FAQs February 2023
The SCR template (Excel spreadsheet) has been updated to reflect the changes to KCSiE 2024 and is available to schools to download via the SLG. The DfE ran a series of webinars in February and March of 2023 and for ease of reference, we have added the FAQs via the hyperlink above. Please contact your HR Advisor with any additional questions or queries.
KCSiE 2024 HR Audit Checklist (PDF)
*New for autumn 2024* and derived from the statutory requirements of KCSiE 2024, Part 3, we have created an HR Audit Checklist to support Headteachers and Governors conduct a self-review of the safer recruitment processes in place at the start of the academic year. In the event of query, please contact your HR Advisor.
DBS and Vetting Checks for Shropshire Council Staff Visiting School Sites 2024/25
Reviewed and updated annually in line with the updates to KCSiE 2024, this letter sets out the Council's process and procedure in relation to the checks undertaken on local authority staff who attend school sites in the course of their job role.
SCR / Personnel File Audit 2024/25 (PDF)
We use this template during our school consultancy visits to review and audit local process and procedure in line with the safer recruitment requirements of Keeping Children Safe... (KCSiE) 2024. The template cross-references both the legislative and statutory guidance against the requirements of the Single Central Record (SCR). The Audit Template has been designed to enable schools to independently review and update the SCR Spreadsheet created by Shropshire HR. We have added a section at the foot of the Audit Template which references the statutory elements of induction, as set out in KCSiE 2024.
Schools Complaint Form (Word doc)
Under the School Information (England) Regulations 2008, schools are required to publish their Complaints Procedure online. The duty to establish procedures for dealing with complaints lies with governing bodies who must tailor the policy to the individual school. As many schools adopt the DfE's model policy, and then render it as a PDF, for ease of access and completion, schools are recommended to make the Complaint Form available, alongside their Procedure, as a separate Word document.
